Y Offers Free 7th Grade Memberships for 2016-2017 School Year
Central Bucks Family YMCA will offer free memberships and specialized teen fitness classes, clubs and activities to community 7th graders for the 2016-2017 school-year. Univest Bank is a six-year visionary level sponsor of the program.
The 7th Grade Initiative program provides a full teen membership enabling teens to utilize the fitness center, aquatics center, gymnasium, studios, teen center and Skate Park. Teen clubs and classes included with membership include basketball, homework help, Teen Leaders, pickleball, dodgeball, gaga, volleyball, and teen spin classes. Special events and trips are also scheduled on an occasional basis.
Participants must register in-person with the 7th grader and parent/guardian present with proof of grade level at Central Bucks Family YMCA, 2500 Lower State Road, Doylestown—across from Central Bucks West High School. Parents or 7th graders interested in the program are encouraged to contact Melissa Lollar, 215.348.8131, x1117 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
The Y is a community leader known throughout the nation for providing a safe place for youth and teens to learn, grow, and thrive. Research shows that seventh-grade is a critical time in a young person’s life when exposure to risk factors greatly increases but is also the year when youth begin to make decisions on their own and distance themselves from family and positive support systems.
