YMCA to Open New Location in Warminster
Central Bucks Family YMCA, currently operating a ‘Y without Walls’ will open a permanent Y location in Warminster by the end of 2016.
The facility, located in Warminster Plaza at the corner of Street Road and York Road, serves as the next phase in the Y’s commitment to the Warminster community and their partnership with Warminster Township to offer recreational health and wellness programs for all ages.
Early plans for the Y are for a full service facility with cardiovascular and strength equipment offering over 30 weekly group exercise classes, youth programming and babysitting services. Aquatics, arts, sports and summer camp programs will continue to be offered at off-site locations. Many of the free community programs provided by the Y at their Doylestown location will also be available in Warminster, including their popular 7th grade initiative memberships and 2nd grade swim programs.
“We’ve already established successful youth, camp and adult group exercise programs and the opening of the facility will allow us to serve teens and adults in a more meaningful way,” said Zane Moore, president and CEO of Central Bucks Family YMCA. “Our new location will allow us to provide services for the entire family and offer a more traditional YMCA membership experience.”
From October 1 to November 30, the Y will be offering special charter memberships. Charter members will benefit from no join fees, plus receive member pricing on Fall programs and $25 toward program fees. Additionally, charter members will be invited to the Grand Opening event, receive a special shirt, and not pay membership fees until January.

In early 2015 at the request of Warminster Township, Central Bucks Family YMCA began offering programs to the Warminster community. Since then, they’ve offered aquatics, sports, fitness, and summer camp programs at a variety of locations including Log College Middle School, Archbishop Wood High School, Willow Dale Elementary and the WREC in Warminster Community Park.
The Y is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves. In 2015, over $39,000 in financial assistance was provided to Warminster residents. Financial assistance is available for membership and all programming based on need.
