YRun 5k, part of the Bucks 5k Series, Set for May 20

04.07.2017

The 23rd Annual Y RUN 5k is scheduled for Saturday, May 20. The early evening race includes a traditional 5k, strength walk and 1-mile fun run. The 2017 event will once again by hosted on the Delaware Valley University campus and will feature a food truck post-race celebration.

Last year’s move to the university was a popular one with Y RUN 5k runners who enjoyed scenic views of the campus grounds in full spring bloom. The open, winding roads of the campus along with the rolling hills make for a quick but challenging course enjoyed by runners and walkers of all ages. This year the race will be held on:

May 20, 2017
Delaware Valley University
700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown, PA 18901

The 1-mile family fun run begins at 5:00pm, with the 5k race start scheduled for 5:30pm.  A Strength Walk will gather and immediately follow the 5k runners on the course. After the race, runners and the community are invited to a post-race celebration featuring local food vendors including  Doylestown Brewery, Sum Pig and Nina’s Waffles. Runners over the age of 21 can present their race bib for a complimentary beer at the Doylestown Brewery truck. A post-race hydration party for runners 21 and over is also offered at Chambers 19 in Doylestown with one free drink per race bib. Race registration is now open with same-day registration available May 19 (5:00-7:00pm) and pre-race on May 20 (3:00-5:00pm), both at Delaware Valley University.

Ample free parking will be available on the campus. Indoor bathrooms and an onsite ATM will also be available. Child care is available but racers must pre-register for this service by visiting or calling the Y’s Welcome Center at 215.348.8131 before May 12.
