YMCA Doylestown Recognizes Backyard Sponsor
Central Bucks Family YMCA is proud to recognize Eastburn and Gray as a sponsor of their community backyard program. Eastburn and Gray recently presented a check for $3,000 to support the grounds at the Y, provided free and open for use by the entire community through their backyard membership program.
The grounds at the Doylestown branch are free and open to the community on weekends and on weekday evenings after 6pm. Residents are welcome to park at or walk to the Y and utilize many of their outdoor amenities including fenced basketball courts, picnic tables, playground and gaga courts. The Y also offers yard games like spike ball, cornhole, and ladder ball, and a limited amount of footballs and volleyballs for individuals and families to borrow while using the outdoor grounds of the Y.
“Eastburn and Gray is proud to support the Community Backyard program at the Y,” said Sarah Eastburn. “This beautiful park-like setting with sand volleyball courts, picnic tables, gaga pits and more provides a wonderful opportunity for the entire community, both young and old, to connect and engage in fun and healthy outdoor activities in a welcoming and safe environment."
A Backyard Membership is free and requires a one-time registration at the Y’s Welcome Center to create an account, sign a waiver, and capture emergency contact information, especially for youth and teens. Once created, backyard members are able to use the grounds and borrow equipment. The membership will also enable families to encourage youth age 12+ to utilize the grounds unsupervised.
