Swimming for Adults

A variety of aquatics programs at the Y are offered for older teens and adults. Aquatics programs are offered for adults at a variety of levels, from low-impact Arthritis Aquatics to Masters Level Swim Club. Check our program brochure or at the link below for a full list of offerings.

Adult Aquatics
Adult Beginning Group Lessons (18+)
This class is for any adult who has never had swimming lessons before or is not comfortable in the water. Basic swimming and water safety skills are taught in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Adult Intermediate Group Lessons (18+)
This class is for adults who are acquainted with and comfortable in water, yet are looking to learn a more structured and efficient stroke. Front crawl, back crawl, and sidestroke will be covered, in addition to increasing overall strength in the water.
Master Swim (18+)
National program for experienced swimmers designed to improve times, starts, turns and strokes.

Aqua Strength & Balance (16+ yrs)
This class is a full-body workout with an emphasis strength work & and flexibility. Easy choreography for fun and variety. Site: Kids First Swim School
Aqua Yoga (16+ yrs)
Aqua Yoga incorporates deep breathing, gentle stretching and balance exercises, assisted by the support of the water. This low-intensity class can be adapted for students at all levels, and beginners to yoga or water fitness are welcome. It leaves you feeling relaxed and renewed. Site: Kids First Swim School
Arthritis Aquatics (16+ yrs)
Endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation | For all ages with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and other rheumatic related conditions. The Arthritis Foundation and Y promote physical activity to reduce pain and disability while increasing strength, mobility and flexibility. Experienced and certified instructors. Barre-acuda (16+ yrs)
Aqua Barre is a fun, energetic, workout that fuses techniques from Dance, Pilates, and Yoga that will tone, define and chisel the whole body. Aqua Barre is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with an added cardiovascular element utilizing the barre. Site: Kids First Swim School
Gentle Aqua Dance (16+ yrs)
Aqua Dance embraces the rhythms and movements of a variety of upbeat styles creating endless possibilities for fun and energizing workouts! Strong by Zumba is a high intensity interval class ? think burpees, pushups, and other high-impact moves ? that's synced to specific music. After all, Zumba is all about the music.
