FITNESS AND AQUATIC EXPERIENCES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
The STARS program is committed to providing premiere adapted physical activities programs that reach out to the special needs population and their families in the local CBFYMCA area. The populations we serve are people who have Autism, related disabilities to Autism, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, AD/HD, Intellectual Disabilities, Down syndrome, Spina Bifida, and Cerebral Palsy.
Participants in our STARS programs will have the opportunity to have:
Meaningful and fun activities for people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities, and will assist with affective (social), cognitive (thinking), psychomotor (physical) development.
Least Restrictive Environment using the gymnasium, aquatic center and other fitness facilities.
Qualified, educated, and certified Special Needs Instructors.
This is also a great opportunity for athletes with special needs to gain skills, endurance, and strength to prepare for other competitive programs.

STARS program
Seeker's
A recreational program for adults with developmental disabilities to enjoy a variety of structured activities, including crafts, pool (optional) and gym games. Mondays, 4-7 PM. Runs Sept - June. Contact Brooke Johnston for details.
