Sports specific camps are designed to teach the skills necessary to excel in a variety of sports. Campers will practice tactical skills and drills to prepare for mini-games that will emphasize the importance of each skill. Larger more realistic games and tournaments are played on Friday of each week.

MORNING SPORTS CAMPS

Baseball
Learn the skills of America’s favorite pastime in a fun, noncompetitive environment. Players will be taught the fundamental skills of fielding, throwing, and batting. Specific skills such as pitching and base running also introduced. Game play everyday and a Home Run Derby at the end of the week. Baseball glove is required. Add a trip to the Phillies Tour during Week 2 or the Trenton Thunder during Week 8 for $20. Must be registered for Week 2 or 8 to go on the trip.

Basketball
Divided into age groups to develop their basketball skills through instruction, drills and game play. Players learn dribbling, passing, shooting and defense in a fun, noncompetitive environment. Teamwork and sportsmanship are emphasized. All equipment is provided. Sixers Summer Hoops Tour visits during week 4.

Cheerleading
Campers receive instruction to develop cheering skills and techniques. Learn cheers, practice teamwork and perform for the sports camp tournaments on Fridays – great practical experience!

NEW! Cross Country
Campers receive instruction and drills related to the sport of cross country. Topics include:  training schedules, running mechanics, weight training, stretching, nutrition, race strategy, peaking, cross training, mental preparation and workout design.

Field Hockey
Fall in love with Field Hockey! Learn the basics of Field Hockey including stick work, dodging, passing, scrimmaging and endurance training. Campers must bring their own field hockey stick. 

Flag Football
Progressive, daily instruction of skills and noncompetitive play action. Campers participate in running, passing, receiving and defense stations. Players showcase their skills in a competition on Thursday and wrap up the week with a Super Bowl Tournament. All equipment is provided. Cleats are recommended. Add a trip to Eagles Training Camp during Week 7 for $20. Must be registered for Week 7 to go on the trip.

Jump Rope Camp
Jump Rope jumping for fun and fitness. Camp combines single rope skills, double-dutch jumping, partner work, group routines as well as fun games. Success-oriented, self-paced learning environment where kids learn teamwork and cooperation.

Lacrosse
Learn the fastest game on two feet here at the Y! Campers are taught cradling, passing, shooting, footwork and the rules of the game through drills and games. Great for players learning the game or those who want to improve their skills. Players must bring their own lacrosse stick.

NEW! Rugby
Exciting new sports camp! Rugby is a fast moving, continuous, dynamic and all-inclusive sport with players actively involved at all times. Camp will be led by qualified and experienced youth Rugby players and current high school players. Campers learn from Rugby's rich history and tradition, with teamwork, sportsmanship and respect being key pillars of the game.

Skateboarding
Learn the basics of skateboarding through a mix of group instruction and ‘free skate’ time. Campers will learn skills of riding along with the culture, terminology, and how to work on and adjust their boards. Campers will have the opportunity to customize their own skate decks, included with camp fee.  Skateboard, Helmet, Elbow & Knee Pads Required

Soccer
The soccer enthusiast or beginner will learn and play soccer. Program emphasizes the fundamental skills and rules of the game. Players are split up by age and the week finishes with a World Cup tournament. Equipment is provided. Shin guards and cleats are recommended.

Speed & Agility
Help give your young athlete an edge. Focus on improving campers’ abilities through a series of drills, exercises and training tools. Builds confidence and skills for their sport.

Supersports (Outdoor)
For the youngster who loves to play a variety of sports! Each day is devoted to a specific sport. Soccer, baseball, flag football and cooperative games are just a few activities. Children receive a basic understanding of the skills and rules appropriate for each sport. All play is noncompetitive. Equipment is provided.

Supersports (Indoor)
Beat the heat with our counterpart to outdoor Super Sports Camp! Includes all the gym games your child loves. Indoor activities include basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, dodgeball and other cooperative games. Campers receive a basic understanding of the skills and rules appropriate for each sport. All play is noncompetitive. Equipment is provided.

Tennis
Learn basic tennis skills such as ground strokes, volleys, serves and footwork. Campers participate in a series of drills followed by game play. Tennis Camp emphasizes having fun and developing a love for the sport. Friday is tournament play. All campers must bring a racquet.

Track & Field
Choose one week or sign up for both. Either way, we promise this camp will make you sweat! Week 1 - Track Camp assists campers to become faster and smarter athletes. Designed for athletes of all skill levels, we encourage individual campers to explore new events and set challenging goals. Week 2 - Campers pick an area to specialize in and spend the week working on a specific event: sprinting, distance, long jump, triple jump, hurdles or shot put.

NEW! Volleyball
Serve and spike at our NEW Volleyball Camp! Individual skill development and teamwork are the focus. Campers will develop skills and learn the rules of volleyball through various drills and game play. Equipment is provided.

Sports Camp
This sports camp focuses on game play rather than skills and drills. Campers enjoy playing a variety of sports as well as cooperative games. Afternoon Sports campers also swim 4 days a week. Join this camp to make it full day if your child is in Morning Sports Camps, Skate Camp, Morning Dance Camp or any other morning program. Week 2 - Trip to Citizens Bank Park Tour; Week 7 - Trip to Eagles Training Camp; and Week 8 - Trenton Thunder v. Reading Phillies is included in afternoon sports camp price. Morning campers can add trips for $20 each.

MAKE A HALF-DAY A FULL DAY!
When registering for any half day program, you have the option to add a half day of another camp to fill your child’s day. Morning and Afternoon Day Camp and Sports Camp are available with any other half day camp.
