“This is a hole we’ve been looking to fill for a long time,” said Lisa Schwartzer, director of fitness at the Doylestown branch. “So many of our teens are here in our fitness center training sports and we want to give them options that will help them take it to the next level.”

brettR2Brackett comes to the Y with a passion for helping athletes understand that success isn’t achieved overnight, but with the right foundation and great work ethic. He hopes to help give young athletes direction on their path to becoming well-rounded athletes and individuals. With his extensive background in sports and athletic development, Brackett has an understanding of all levels for professional and student athletes. His goal is to help athletes develop functional movement skills, build a foundation for function strength and enhance sport-specific knowledge and ability.

Athletic Development classes for ages 12-14 and 15-16 will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4-5pm and 3-4pm respectively. The will include 15 minutes of movement and 45 minutes of strength. The program will also include a fitness evaluations and assessment. Programs for ages 17 and over are also available.
